getting annoyed now, Remote Central Locking

Featured Replies

Fitted an aftermarket stereo and the central locking worked fine for about 3 weeks then on and off it worked, now not at all. ive searched but theres so many posts ive probably missed the one im looking for with the answers so from what i gather its something to do with this "k wire"?

could someone shed some light on this?

and any other possible reasons its been like this?

ive messed about with the ignition live and permanent lives to no avail, ive tried re sycronising the keys and still no luck and its becomming a bit annoying now.

please dont tell me to go search ive tried for the last 20 mins.

Have you had it scanned for fault codes? Are all the other convenience unit things working?, manual locking, windows, mirrors, key hold electric windows from the door lock.

What condition are the remotes in?

Just disconenct/cut the wire from you head unit that's supposed to feed an electric ariel. I think it'll be blue with a white stripe if I remember correctly.

If it worked after the headunit was fitted and has now stopped your looking at a seperate fault.

Actually, from reading your post again, what he said! :iagree:

At a guess, I'd say you should check the connection in the drivers door to the elec window motor (central convenience).

There have been a lot of corrosion issues at this connection describing similar symptoms to yours.

just the locking that isnt working.

hmm that would mean removal of the door card? and where the cable goes into the motor?
