Got here because of the Engine Management Light...

Featured Replies

Hi !

I'm pretty new to the forum and the reason I looked it up was the apparently familiar "Engine Management Light" and sort of misfire of the engine in connection with it.

I have a Skoda Fabia and since august I have had it in 8 times to get it fixed.

They seem to have tried countless fixes but none that actually works.

The car is approximately 4 years old and have gone about 73000 kilometers.

Sometimes the light and problems comes back the day after it was "fixed", sometimes it takes a couple of weeks.

Today the problem reappeared for the 9th time.

Thanks to consumer laws in Norway I should be able to cancel the whole deal.

I will go to the dealer tomorrow and stake my claim as this is getting too much of a hassle for me.

Regards

Bernt

I have this problem atm.. I've done 26k and the management light has been on and off. It stays on for 1 or 2 days then goes out.. My dealer said it can be dodgy petrol that causes this! They can only diagnose the problem when the light is on and unfortunantly I havn't been near my dealer workshop when the light has been on! I did have this on my Mk1 at 65K, it was diagnosed to be a breather or something that was replaced and all was fine.
