How do you remove the rear brake cylinder? 2 round bolts at back are rusted and I cant make out if they are removed by alan key or a socket. Does anyone know?

When I first changed the wheel cylinders on my Felicia, I had to remove one of the backplates (e.g. unbolt the stub axle) because the bolts were so badly rounded off. I replaced them with Stainless socket-head bolts, but I'm afraid I can't remember what they were before.

Removing the stub axle is pretty straightforward, and gives you the advantage that you can put the backplate in a vice to drill/grind the bolts holding the cylinder off.

:)You need a 5mm allen key, preferably the socket type that can be used on a 3/8 drive ratchet. You'll need to hammer the tool into the bolt to get a good grip. If the allen key slips inside the bolts you'll probably need to remove the backplate as already said by fruitbat. If you need to renew the bolts they are M6 thread type.

When I did it the allen key was rounding the bore of the bolt so i hammered on a socket around the bolt and using a lot of WD-40, it could eventually be undone, they are a big problem on felicias though.

Thanks for the tips everyone. Tried last night but they wouldnt shift. Will try tonight again bashing in a 5mm allen key.
