Compressor Surge?

Featured Replies

I've been suffering from a problem with my TFSI vRS recently which has been annoying me quite a bit.

Basically, when going through the gears at WOT it will sometimes go limp after engaging the current gear - it mostly does this going from 2nd-3rd and from 3rd-4th.

If I keep my foot down it will continue to be 'limp' but if I let off for about 2 seconds then re-engage the throttle it's usually OK.

Personally I think this is what's called compressor surge. It's not what most describe as a fuel cut as I checked for codes with VAGCOM after a run where this occured. No faults were logged.

Can anyone shed some light on this? How could this be remedied?

Thanks :)

Try logging requested vs actual boost H, see if the actual spikes when requested drops off.

Cheers Stu - I'll try that tomorrow if I get chance.

I wouldn't be surprised if you do see a spike as this seems to be a trait of the valve you have fitted.
