Well all seems well so far, cobered a little over 1600 miles with no warnings!

Mine loses coolant over about 1500 miles from max to min. I was going to leave it until its service but might have to put it in sooner given the wait for parts!

lol, had to chuckle about the turbo causing coolant loss. Yeah because the diesel turbo is water cooled, not.

I have heard of a few of the EGR coolers leaking coolant internally on both Skoda and VW. Also VW has had many problems on the BKD engine with pourous heads that leak internally just inside the intake to the inlet valves, usually on cyl 1.

Does anyone know the VIN numbers that the faulty batch Heads are affected. The other half has an 03 Audi A3 with 140bhp TDI engine which is exhibiting the same symptoms as described. If it is the Head, can anyone recomend a Head Supplier that is reasonably cheap??

Thanks in advance

As you may or may not remember, my car was losing coolant before my turbo imploded taking the intercooler, EGR valve, engine (head and block) and exhaust system with it....

Strange you should say that, mine did the exact same thing!

I was loosing coolant, went into dealer 2-3 times, EGR valve replaced, 2 days later turbo propeller shot down exhaust, taking the Intercooler, CAT and Exhaust.

Everything was replaced under warrenty except everything after the CAT due to Skoda HQ saying "Thats wear and tear" so they burned the oil off which was left in the exhaust.

EDIT: Didn't realize this topic is over a year old!
