My Octavia is a 2006 but the A4 model.I have got the standard CD player but only 2 front speakers which sound really awful and rattly.In the rear there are grilles for speakers but are there any plugs/looms there at the rear hidden away? Does anyone know?

Is it worth changing the front speakers for better quality ones? i want to keep the stereo standard.

Def change the speakers Alpine 17cm will fit straight in. If yours has component speakers you can stick to these or simply put co axials in. You will have to rewire slightly as you have the stock connectors which won't fit the new speakers. A little bit of diy and you'll be fine. Don't know about connectors in back but same speakers will fit there and just use the wires that come in the box. Halfords sell them for about thirty quid. Depends on your budget but they sound pretty good with stock stereo.

ive just spent £300 on my new sound system, i put Foxel front speakers in, straight in fit, sound amazing, also put some in the rear which sound good allround. stock speakers are pretty naff :-(
