Interior courtesy lights all failed

Featured Replies

Hi All

apologies for the less than sexy thread, but I would be v grateful for help/similar experiences anyone has had. I discovered last night as I pulled up at home (in the pitch dark) in my 06 plate Octy TFSI vRS that all my interior courtsey lights have failed (both up front and those in middle of roof). Of course tried fidling with all positions on both units, but regardless of which position I used/whether the doors were open or shut, no lights at all. Have had a quick check and I can't see anything else that has failed. I am assuming it's not a bulb issue, and that is most likley a fuse problem? Has anyone had similar happen? Can anyone advise which fuse it could be (yes I have had a look in handbook but couldn't immediately see which fuse it would be..)

Any help greatly appreciated.

nb - I had Stream audio replaced with new CD headunit a while ago - any chance this is related???

I don't know if there is still a k wire on the newer ones but I would take the new head unit out temporarily then try the lights. If they work again you just found your problem

cheers for your reply. however at slightly nightmare risk of sounding like a complete cretin, what is a k wire...?

vRS Fred

I forget exactly what it is but on the older octy one of the wires was for diagnostic purposes and you could mess things up by putting 12v down it from the radio.

Like I said, easiest thing to do is pull the lead out of the radio and see if it all works again.
