Running cables from boot to engine

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Loadsa questions, sorry!! (2001 Octy vRS).

I think I know where the grommet is behind the glovebox, do I have to drill this through first?

Also, how do I get the plastic side trim thingy up so I can run cables from the rear of the car to the front down the sides?

Which is the best way into the boot?

Is it 100% needed to run the power / rcas down different sides?

Thanks

Here's how I did it:

Rob's Skoda vRS

You don't need to drill the grommet - it has a rubber thingy that you can poke a hole through.

Sweet, so apart from at the back I don't have to remove the plastic trim, just push the cable up inside?

Niceee! I might actually be able to do this! HA!

Did you run the rcas down the other side?

Ok, so have I got this right.

Remove scuttle panel, can I just poke the cable through behind that and into behind the glove box?

I ask this as I'm going to do this in my lunch break at work... and if I end up halfway through and needing tools!!!!!!

Pretty much, yes! The scuttle panel can be a bit of a pig to remove but be patient with it!!
