Big thanks to Stu

Featured Replies

Just wanted to Publically thank Stu for sorting my car out last Saturday.

I drove down on in the morning to have my Maxidot and OEM BT fitted. I arrived a tad late but got straight off to the dealer to get the Pod coded only to discover that numpty boy here had forgotten the plastic key fob with the pin number on it which was needed to recode the new unit :o

But thanks to Chris and Stu they managed to find a way to do it, then get back to Stu's to get the BT kit fitted. A few hours later and hey presto! Maxidot, Bluetooth (which works wonderfully Btw) AND cruise control all fitted! :D All of which made for a great (all be it rushed) drive back.

Its stuff like this that makes it worth being part of a forum or 'collective' where members can help one another.

Stu is the true Jedi master... :jedi:

so maxi-dot can be retro fitted ..i have asked my local dealer about this and have been told by them and skoda uk that it is not possible as each one is coded to the options that are on that particular car .

Nice to meet you. I was the blue one.

Yes, Stu is a legend. Way more helpful than anyone has a right to expect.

:orb_not_w

Did he show you his MFD3?

I watched it happen. I guess there is a difference between it being possible and wanting to do it.

Plus the cost of the parts could be prohibitive.

whats one of these look like? i only got two keys with mine??

PS, yes stu is a star. helped me out no end over the phone when i fitted my BT

Count me in on that thanks, Stu has given me a lot of good advice. Thankyou Stu

It's a 6 or so inch long plastic tag that has a couple of stickers inside it, one of which is the 4 digit SKC (Secret Key Code). Luckily in Rich's case we were at a dealership which was able to go online to HQ and generate the code required.

Thanks for the thanks guys.

A big if belated public thanks from me as well, He managed to sort my apparently fooked Turbo on the Diesel :thumbup:

You had better ask Crissi that one ;)

I gotta admit, Stu amazes me with his knowledge and help. Richierrich32, like you Stu's hooked me up with Maxi dot, cruise and bluetooth to go with my MFD2 that I got for the Octi. I was joking when I said, that there was very little left of the original dash fittings left. To which end, Stu pulled another rabbit out of the hat and changed the steering wheel for me to a leather multi function one. Can't believe it, I've almost got a L&K (with a VRS dashpod).

Stu's talents seem to know no bounds, he really is a Jedi Master. hehe.

Not only that, Chrissi makes a wicked cup of coffee, and always makes you feel welcome.

If Stu ever went into business, I reckon a lot of stealers and after sales ICE shops should be very very worried.

didnt get one of those with mine. is it worth me getting another from the dealer for any future needs?

Not entirely sure they are replaceble to be honest Stu.

Dealers don't have visibility of SKC's any more, they are all done online.

thanks stu. is it just used for things like spare keys still. any idea if it would affect anything come selling it?

It carries chassis number and 4 digit SKC. No biggy really.

Ah, so that was yours! :P

Lucky Stu... I'm not sure I'd want to do a turbo (or cambelt for that matter) on a transverse engined PD... Stu must be very dextrous!!:rofl:
