Black Paint... Seriously confused.

Featured Replies

Hey folks. I'm in the process of respraying an old fabia front grill, the colour I need is blackmagic. My local Motorist Discount Centre doesn't have any but they do have the VW "Diamond Black" colour... may be a silly question but are they the same thing?

Many thanks... have a good night all,

Duggie

Don't know about the VW stuff, but you can get a can of proper Skoda stuff from your dealer - ?koda Accessories

It's not the same.

You can get cans mixed at Halfords for a tenner

Paint code: F9R

The code you need is 9910, just go into halfords and ask them to mix a can with that code.

If the Diamond Black is the same code then it's the right one.

Why Halfords mix for a tenner when the proper dealer stuff is cheaper?

Thanks for this link, been looking for some OEM mud flaps and roof bars for a bike rack

halfords do black magic ready mixed

Yeah, but the mixed up paint is a better match and the aerosols are a little easier to use. Thats what I noticed

You go to halfords to get the paint because there is one everywhere as opposed to Skoda dealers which may not be in the right place for some people.

BTW, if you can get it use UPOL laquer. It's far superior to halfords own which I have found to be not much better than hairspray.
