I would appreciate an answer. The clutch went on my Taxi tonight Octacia amiente 1.9 TDI

Is it hard for me to replace. I am an ex mechanic.

Need the car on the road quickly.

Out of hospital yesterday, now the clutch goes.

Any help much appreciated.

Welcome to Briskoda. Old or New Octavia? Haynes publish a Workshop Manual for the Skoda Octavia 1998 to April 2004. It covers how to change a clutch and rates the job as fairly difficult, ie suitable for a competent DIY mechanic. Amazon.UK stock the manual if you can't get it in Ireland.

I'm also new to this Forum but have done a clutch on my 1.9tdi. I use Haynes as my bible and it was within my capabilities.However its dual mass and you do have to replace the flywheel which gets expensive. You can now buy a clutch conversion kit which kills to birds with one stone. Good luck
