Hope someone can shed light on this !!

I have a 2003 Octavia vRS, and I have recently encountered problems whilst under gentle braking, when pulling up etc.

Firstly, the ABS and Traction Control warning lights come on randomly whilst just driving.

Secondly, I could be braking gently as if pulling up at a junction or traffic lights, then under braking there is quite a violent thudding sensation accompanied by a loud clunking noise. (the thudding sensation seems very harsh for ABS!)

This can be quite erratic, and can be fine for several days, then suddenly returns.

I have had ABS sensors replaced and new grooved discs with green stuff pads fitted but I am still experiencing this problem. Any ideas ?

You haven't changed the brake fluid and totally drained the system leaving air in the ABS unit have you?

... erm, no.

Everything in order re brake fluid.

Diagnostic check isn't showing anything. It's doin my head in !!

I suspect it's brake electronics, a fuelling issue, or, given the Green Stuff pads, warped discs. I know Awesome will suppost the existence of the last possibility.

All this electrical crap is great when your cars new! But then it ****es on your chips.

It's tempting to pull it all out when it keeps screwing up.

Erm i'm not sure what to say, sounds like youve tried everything! Replace/check everything even mildly connected to the brake system! Or go see a few specialists for their thoughts.

Ive basically been useless. Ill leave now!
