Mot

Just had the Furby vRS MOT'd for the first time and guess what......IT FAILED......poxy o/s anti roll bar bush cracked, Is it me or is this a common problem with them?:mad:

I am seriously loosing faith in Skoda, I don't expect a car that's dome 50k to need work dong on it....I don't drive like a **** either.

Bugger, bugger bugger, bugger!!!!

Ben

But...its Friday and I'm getting drunk tonight Woo Hoo!! :D

Is it the bush that's cracked or the collar that has come away? Bushes are a doddle to change and only about £1.50 each from the dealer.

They said that the bush is cracked.

So it shouldn't cost too much then?

If it's deffo the bush, the part is bugger all and it should take about 10 minutes to change including time taken to make a cup of tea. :D

2x bolts hold the clamp on and the bush just comes off after the clamp is removed. Doddle.

expect it to get worse... skoda Customer services, told me they only expect the suspension to last 60k, and then won't replace it under warrenty..... its why I changed marques..

my console bushes died at 60k......

It will be the collar. The bush itself can't crack as it allready is.

A new antiroll bar will be required. Did you get your MOT done early? If its you first then it might well fall under warranty still.

How much is an anti roll bar then? I'm seriously considering changing if it costs me loads!!!!

Isn't the new bar about £70 plus fitting? That involves dropping the front subframe to do, then you'll need the tracking to be re-done as it'll be out from the subframe drop.

I quite agree with you signature.....damn front suspension? I would have thought it should go for more than 55k? I have had mainly Ford's in the past ans not one problem.

Is the new Fabia just a rework of the front suspension or all new as I won't be getting one in a hurry if it is??

Yeah, it's the only thing I hate about the Fabia at the moment. The suspension is just a joke. Voided console bushes, faulty ARB's that need replacing, clunking you just cannot find the source of, drop links that need replacing twice a year.....etc etc.

All this to say that it's by far not the best handler in the world.

I'm sorely tempted to get a RARB as soon as funds/ insurance allows it as it would make it slightly more worthwhile. After driving the missus 306 again, it felt a little more soggy on initial turn in but body roll is much more tightly controlled on the whole and that's with 105k on the clock.

At the moment I'm phased by a funny clunky noise that comes from around the steering rack when I go over bumps / rough surfaces whilst cornering at low speed. Just feels like somethings loose down there. Had the wheels off several times and changes tons of bits but it's still doing it. Fecking thing.
