Trimming bump stops on tdi elegance

Featured Replies

I've got eibachs installed for quite a while and now the time has come to change the dampers. So i bought koni fsds and i want to cut the bump stops since I'm gonna dismantle the suspension for konis.

I bought 6Q0412301A for fronts and 6Q0512131B for rears. I've read somewhere that i should cut fronts for 20 mm and rears for 30 mm. Is there gonna be a difference since mine is not rs but elegance but since I've putted eibach pro kit i suppose it's all the same now?

Another question is how am i going to explain to my mechanic to cut bump stops especially the rears?

Thanks

Rears are tricky asyou cant cut an end off as you would have to trim the middle out and bond back together.

Its not something i've ever done myself tbh, and the rear mountings are designed to be run on and compress (they are listed as spring helpers).

Plenty of threads like you say on what to cut though.

Ok i've cutted bump stops and fitted koni fsd dampers. First impression is that the ride is much smoother now when driven gently especially going over bumps and potholes. I dont know if that's a placebo but when i try to corner quickly it seems sharper :) I sure hope i've cutted bump stops properly since this is not rs but i'm pretty confident everything is ok so if anyone putted their eibachs i strongly recommend cutting bump stops - it's much more comfortable now :)

The only thing missing now is the jabba arb and since i live in other part of the world this is gonna be tricky :)
