Hello all, scanned my Fabia after the Engine light came on. Came up with U3 which apperently translates as High Speed CAN Communication Bus (+) Open. Anyone have any ideas what caused this and corrective procedure, any help gratefully recieved

I do have an aftermarket DVD player in it yes

In place of the headunit?

Then thats your problem.

Removing the standard stereo has broken the can bus on the car.

Have you used an adaptor loom to fit it?

I just swapped the two wires over, red and orange i think. Well I said I did the tech at Halfords did it for me as it was free fitting, I supervised throughout
