Felicia 1.3 Brake Pads

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Does anyone know what the difference is between the pads for a 1.3 saloon / estate (6UO698151B) and those for a 1.3 pickup (6OU698151A) - they look exactly the same and I assume the calipers are the same as well - have they a different compound or something or is it just part number engineering !!

thanks

Wear indicators?

there are two different calipers fitted to felicias. it may be that all the pick-ups have one sort.

AFAIK They should be the same?

Unless its to do with the different engines

My guess is the pickup has uprated brakes due to being intended for use as a load lugger, more weight = more effort required to stop. I think they have some sort of rear brake regulating valve which regulates based on load level at the rear, which the non pick-up's don't have.

i can confirm there are definitately 2 different types of calipers fitted to the felicia range but afaik it's just pot luck which ones you get.. i'll look them up in a brake pads book and see what's what

here we go

the early ones (top) were the old stock left over from the favorit.

the later ones were fitted to most of the felicia's..

the dimensions are almost identical too, i reckon the top one would fit in both calipers, but i'm not sure about the other way round :o

there is a valve connected to the rear beam of the hatches, that regulates the braking forces to match the weight in the back.

yes true, only on the models that dont have abs, the ones that have abs have pressure sensitive ports on the master cylinder

ok, thanks- they look like the later ones as per Teflontoms picture - I found a couple of references on the web to two different sizes though most suppliers only list one - oh, well , wheel off job and hope for the best !!

tec drawing my a$$

i recon my daughter could do better on her etchascetch!! lol

Whilst you're in there, make sure the caliper retaining cage pins are free and copper greased. My felly failed its MOT on them & the cages are £20 a pop.
