Scout in Cappucino?

Featured Replies

Am thinking about ordering a Scout but not sure which colour. I saw a Roomster 2 in the showroom in Cappucino. Has anyone got one or seen a Scout in it?

i saw one on the street the other day (not a scout) but looked pretty smart.

I think the colour would be nice against the bodykit.

Steel grey looks best though!

I saw a Roomi2 in cappucino in the showroom and really liked it, so considered it for my scout. However, although I think the colour would look good with the front & side body mouldings i didn't choose it 'cos i thought it would look odd with the silver on the rear bodymoulding.

i think this is cappucino:)

Hi Fred, i,ve got an octavia scout in Cappucino and it looks great, i,ve had 2 octavias one in met silver and one in met dark green but this is the nicest and easy to keep clean as well, i had an auto glym thrown in when i bought it and it looked the dogs when i picked it up, alloys look well too, i,ll post some pics when i find out how too.Dave

Cappucino looks like a nice colour for the Scout. I also especially like polar blue (which I have) and this one (I think it's the new brilliant silver metallic?):

Whatever you chose I'm sure your Scout will look great. Let us know what you order.

Cappuccino is really a good colour for the Scout, we have a cappuccino Octavia scout in the showroom in nottingham and it looks the dogs danglies! Only problem i have with the colour is the fact they added the word beige on the end...........sounds old, but ignore that and its a very nice colour.

I love this colour and if we go for a scout would choose this. One question though - are those the standard alloys? they look bigger than similar alloys in other pictures I've seen of the scout. Is it just the colour giving the impression of bigger wheels or are these the optional 17" alloys that I've heard about? They are gorgeous :)

Yes, those are the 17in wheels.

OK, I've taken the plunge! Yesterday I ordered 1.9TDi Roomster Scout in Cappuccino with sunshine roof, maxidot and climate control for delivery March 1st (hopefully).

Only thing I'm not sure about is the Skoda removable towbar. The dealer seems to think it is six hours labour to fit, has anyone any experience of this?

Fred

did you go for 17 inch wheels? they really make the car stand out imoa

standard qoute for a fully fitted towbar from skoda is about 800 to 900 quid btw!!! :o

My Skoda detatchable bar fitted by a Skoda dealer cost me £420 ish another dealer a bit ferther away was quoting £405

The bar and electrics only cost about £260

The pictures of the Scout in Cappucino look to me like the standard Scout 16 inch wheels.

Just looked in the Scout Brochure and the accessory brochure and cant see any ref. to 17inch wheels on a Scout ???

I would, and I shall in the summer, check out TowEquipe who sell though Ebay (and directly) and have a great reputation. They have links to instructions for fitting their own towbars - basically it's a case of dropping the bumper, removing some tape over some bolt-holes, bolt on the bar, cut a bit of the bumper away and refit. Fitting the electrics with the vehicle-specific kit shouldn't be rocket science, If it takes me, doing it for the first time, six hours, I'd be very surprised.

Don't forget to check out Witter aswell.

They do exist but Skoda UK apparantly like to make a secret of it. I might have specced them on mine but they weren't in the dealers brochures or on their computer system. They're the same style as the 16in but errrmm, bigger :)

Congrats on your order Fred!

They were mentioned when I bought mine but I decided to go for quietness and supplness instead.

I have my own Cappucino Scout Automatic 2.1.2008 clock 13.00. Its my New Year!

In Finland 17" is opitional and cost 300€, but we must use now winter tire. Nokia 16" 205/50 is OK with standard.

Happy New Year 2008!

OK, I've now had a definite quote from the dealer who is supplying the car; £518!

Quote from local towbar fitter for a Witter bar; £269, no contest.

How on earth can Skoda quote that price for something that is almost a plugin device when the Witter involves more work?

Hi, I just checked on the Witter site and their detatchable bar and electrics supply only is advertised at £454.84 which makes it far more expensive like for like than the genuine Skoda item!!!!!

Skoda detatchable bar £180 elecs £65, 13/7 pin plug adaptor £12.50 inc VAT. =£257.50 supply only.

If that price of £269 is a fitted price your fitter is either giving you massive discount on the bar and fitting it for nothing or you have been quoted for a fixed bar which will look cack on a Roomster Scout.

I am not having a dig but I think you should get your guy to check exactly what you are getting for your money.

Cheapest supply only for a Roomster detatchable towbar with 13pin car specific wiring kit is £213.64 inc VAT from Towequipe.

Also on the Towequipe site is a picture of the bumper cut for a witter fixed towbar which I dont think you will like.

Hope this helps

In this case, it seems to me worth going for the genuine Skoda parts - less chance of a dealer trying to avoid any quite unrelated warranty issues because of a non-Skoda part being fitted. But I'll be fitting them myself.

PAArsko, thanks for that. Where did you find the picture of the bumper cut? I've looked but can't find it.

I've checked again with the local fitter and this is his reply;

A towbar fitted with 13 pin electrics to a Skoda Roomster Scout is £294.10 inc vat & mobile service or £279.10 if you come to us There is a bumper cut required which is from the bottom edge of the bumper a depth of 105mm x 80mm width
