My car has had problems starting recently, I've tracked the problem down to a broken earth from the battery.

I'm giving the lead from the battery to the chassis some treatment tonight (a clean and some copper grease) but....

Where is the lead connecting the chassis to the engine? Does one exist?

As for where the engine earth strap is, personally I have no idea (yet).

I will say though, grease of any kind isn't the best thing to have in between any terminals. Metal to metal is best, then cover it in grease or vaseline.

Copper grease is a very high melting point grease used on brakes, it doesn't mean it's electrically conductive.
