People not respecting the Brisk Skodas

Featured Replies

i have a three-tone cadillac air-horn thankyouplease.

and can we stop with all the rants? most of you are showing how recklessly you've driven yourselves. if you didn't get worked up about minor infractions that these people mostly dont even realise they're making, your lives would improve vastly. try it.

I agree with this completely, and only wish it were so simple. I spend so much time and effort trying to drive well so when other people make minor mistakes* (particularly when they seem oblivious) I take them as personal affronts and sometimes lose it. It's not healthy.

*I also realise that I make errors all the time.

I think it's a form of transference - expecting other people to drive as well as I do* because I deal with morons all day every day

Also - the horn on the Fabia is surprisingly good i think. Certainly the poor woman who swerved into my lane on the M1 did - I gave a blast in panic as I swerved into the reservation and she went the other way and under a truck's back wheels....fortunately noone was hurt.

she deserved it:D

To be honest, I think a large proportion of people have no respect for themselves or for anyone else and it's reflected in their driving behaviour. Carelessness, lack of concentration & petty road rage appear to be endemic and it's all down to thinking about stuff that isn't in the here & now. Stuff like what was on telly last night or what shall I get the kids for dinner or I wonder if so-&-so is having an affair or will he/she like me for this/that or, heaven forbid, on the freaking phone!

Even legends like Mike Hailwood can die on the roads as a consequence of idiocy...

Mike was a god on two wheels.......

So it's not about being a business man w***er who thinks he can get whatever he wants, is lucky enough to have made it and got a crap car like a Mercedes (the old one's are much better, would never buy a new one if I was paid) - thinking "I own the roads, get out of my way."

In fact I saw some shocking driving out of my street the other day, someone was reversing full throttle and they reversed straight into another road without slowing to see if anything was coming. All it takes is one idiot like that and someone else to be in the wrong place, wrong time and smash. Then no doubt the reversing idiot would be all "why did you effin crash into me" contesting the claim to the very last with the insurers.

 :iagree: Them too! Most "dedicated" business men have a touch of the psychopath in them and maybe the more successful they are, the more traits they have... Still, when they're behind the wheel, often their ego's rule & they're not focused on driving. (I don't even like anyone in the car talking to me when I'm driving, unless it's about the driving conditions or other road users.)

As for the reversing idiot: :orb_duh: :hbomb:
