Wheels

Am I right in saying anything with a bolt pattern on 5x112 will fit on the Superb, or is it more complicated?

Chris

Not quite anything,

First the wheel has to have a large enough diameter to clear the calipers (shouldn't be a problem, as people tend not to go smaller than OEM, std is 16")

Secondly make sure the ET (offset) is close to std (37mm)

Finally make sure they are not too wide (std is 7") otherwise they may foul the wheel arch or shock absorber / strut.

So in summary, a Superb has:

7" x 16", ET37, 5 x 112 PCD, (with a 57.1mm center bore hole to fit onto the hub) wheels as std, keep close to that and you will be fine.

ET range of ET35 - ET45 are also applicable depending on the wheel width...

Will ET54 fit on Superb? Rims are 17' (Skoda Pegasus).

Will ET54 fit on Superb? Rims are 17' (Skoda Pegasus).

This will mean that the wheel, judging from the standard ET37, would be 17mm closer to the inside of the wheel arch................not a good thing!!

You also need to know what J (Width) the Pegasus wheel is?

Pegasus rims are 7J.

If thats what you ment?

Yeah I had calculated the offset with the same wheel width 7J and 7J............

So they would fit?

I'll try those as soon as there's no more snow and ice on the roads. And this will be hopefully in March...

Errr...........no............:(

What I am saying is that with a Superb's standard wheel being ET37 and 7J if you fit a wheel with an ET54 and 7J then the new wheel will be 17mm closer to the suspension strut / arch and could potentially foul............:(

Carlsson wheels look great from the pictures mate but this discussion refers to the 'Old School' Superb platform which has different Offset's I am sure on the wheels........

Would be very nice to have a new Superb running 20's and decked on coilovers............

I tried one wheel and it doesn't fit. Wheel doesn't have enought space to spin -tire rubs to the suspension "system".

And the wheel is too much inside, so it doesn't look nice.

So now I need spacers. Maybe 20-30 mm would be enough. Any ideas where should I get those?

And longer wheel bolts.

Your going to need 20mm spacers as a minimum really...........I have some 15mm spacers hanging around but I don't think they will be enough and I sold my 20mm spacers some time ago...............:(

You can source them from FK or Eibach to name a few...........

And longer wheel bolts.

Hm, anyone got any thoughts on where to get longer wheel bolts from? Perhaps another VAG got one of similar specifications?

I thought you were a headlamp designer?

Longer wheel bolts will be difficult to source from other VAG motors and it's much easier to speak to the spacer manufacturer to get the correct bolt length..........

I thought you were a headlamp designer?

I am but I also know a little about wheels on the Superb............:o

 @ off-topicness!!

I think Chris was asking this because he has a set of 16" Superb wheels and is looking to widen his audience if he were to sell them ;)

I sold them to you.....aaaaages ago :P??

oh yeah lol!! TrevB33 had them from me ;P

LOL! Wake up Tom!

You wont need longer bolts at all if you get the propper bolt on hubcentric spacers. You just use the standard ones.

How do these hubcentric spacers address the problem of corrosion when steel and alloy are put together?
