Conshine do you have it horizontal or vertical.

I'm going round my mate's tonight to have a go a moving it. Just wondered what way you got yours.

I have mine horizontal on the shelf and right on the front edge of the bookcase too, it works alot better when it's up high. I had it down lower but the signal was not as good.

I ended up playing with it really, I got a modem extension cable from Comet and placed it in various areas on the back wall and this is where it is best and just hid the cable under the carpet. (you can get really thin ones now).

My house is Victorian, so all the walls are brick and the signal is still good.

Well I just got back from my mates and it was a combo fault, as in the wireless card is 5hite and he had the router on the floor. So I lent him a netgear usb adapter on a flying lead which I put on a bookshelf and put the router up on shelf and it's a hell of a lot better. It still show a low connection but it works for now. We are not to bothered as the computer is going in loft soon, which is where the router was before and the desktop worked fine then so thats cool.

Thanks for all the help guys and girl (lady E):thumbup:

Great news, it’s often the most obvious things that turns out to be at fault (and the last thing we check properly:D)

Yep, good news - glad you've arrived at a workable solution :)
