Fabia W Reg Noise When Changing Gears

Featured Replies

Hi and I hope someone can help. I have noticed that when I change gear and put the accelarator pedal down quickly I get a clunk noise . It only does it when I do this and not if I change gear normally so I think it MUST be some kind of suspension issue. It also does it NOW AND AGAIN when I go over bumps in the road

Any help or advice would be great!!!!!

Thanks

This could be transmission/engine mounts. Also could be the front ARB. Do you notice it in all gears if you do the same sequence - especially in the first two gears?

You could do a search for Fabia ARB...

Yeah sounds like the ARB bushes to me , I had that noise for a while , changed the bushes before it went in for MOT and its been fine since.

Is it a vRS? I had something similar but when dipping the clutch to change gear. Also caused random knocking from the front over bumps. It was the gearbox mount on the N/S under the battery/ airbox. Greased it up as per the official Skoda fix and it's been fine since.
