What Virus scanner on your N95?

Featured Replies

The title says it all; what Anti-virus have you installed on your Symbian OS.

And can you compare it with the quality of AVG Free for Windows?

Post it all here!:D

None, dont really need one yet.

dont think a virus scanner is really needed on symbian yet.. you would have to be really silly and start installing crap unsigned dodgy applications to put your phone at risk, and im not the sort of person who would accept random bluetooth data connections either.

AIUI, the only Symbian virus created to date was a proof-of-principle job, which was released a few years ago, and was only able to propagate via Bluetooth. My expertise is nothing compared to the Mannyos and Neo_VRs of this world, but I reckon that just like how virus writers don't bother with Macs because PCs are easier and more common, they're not going to write viruses for Symbian when it'd be far less hassle to stick to Windows... :)

Thanks for your posts, still think you need an anti-virus, since the phone is capable of connecting to networks (corporate, public)

and with all these applications, surely there are nothing else than lines of codes waiting to be exploited... lol
