Every cloud has a Graphite Grey lining

Featured Replies

Some idiot rammed my car on a roundabout on Saturday evening. I've been in a big mood about it ever since. The damage is to the rear passenger side door and sill. Anyway, I went wound a couple of body shops, and they were quoting me about £350-400 for the repair, which was pretty steep. I'm hoping to get the money back off the other guy's insurance, but still, I have to shell it out in the first place, and I couldn't really afford that much. I took it into Mitchell's Skoda, and they said they thought it'd be about the same amount, but they gave me the card of their recommended body shop anyway...

So, I went down there after work today, and the guy quoted me £160-180 for the repair. I couldn't believe my ears, got him to repeat it, and booked it in straight away. As an extra Brucie Bonus, I asked him how much they'd charge to colour code my grill surround at the same time, and he said only an extra £20. So, as the title says, every cloud has a Graphite Grey lining.

Nice work! Some one stole my metal dust caps and i was livid for a day....until i bought some more!

glad u sorted a better deal and a great colour m8...

Just got it back from the body shop. I am absolutely delighted with the work I've had done. My door is as good as new, and the colour coded grille looks class (especially in the graphite grey). It is a bit dark to take pics, but I will do so in the next couple of days.

Anyway, big kudos to K&R Autos, Seaview Road, Wallasey - if you ever need bodywork doing on Merseyside, I'd thoroughly recommend them, for quality, price and service.

Get those pics up ASAP :)

Last time I was in my dealership they gave me a card for their accident management service.

Basically, if the accident isn't your fault, they'll handle bother sides of the insurance, sort out the repair using Skoda approved repairers and give you a courtesy car equivalent, I think, to your own.

Sounds sweet...
