On-board computer question

Featured Replies

Does everyones OBC reset the average MPG everytime the car is switched off for a period of time????

Mine does....and i cant work out why it resets as the clock holds the time but other info doesnt??????

Yea, it's a "trip computer" afaik so it stores info for a trip. Mine average MPG doesn't reset, but it wont read properly for about 10 miles into a trip unless I reset it.

Obviously miles left / clock stays up though.

If you push the button on the underside of the stalk it will take you to mode "2" which is the overall data, cant remember what page in the handbook that is, but its there :P :D

And that will let it carry on from the last MPG reading????

Yep, you hold the button underneath in for a while and it will zero it, It will continue with the avg MPG, speed , total distance until either you reset it again or you cover 9999 miles.

You can tell which mode your in with a wee 1 or 2 ina box in the corner of the display 1= trip 2 = overall

The instant trip mpg (mode 1) resets to zero after the ignition has been off for two hours.

Sure that's not a result of cold enrichment, combined with the start of a trip usually being one of the slowest parts, since it involves getting out of parking spaces and a town?
