shock! - a positive dealer experience

Featured Replies

I mentioned a while ago that ive been unable to open my offside rear door, the central locking on it wont work nor can it be opened from the inside.

Took it to my local dealer (Jewsons) and initially it looked like the work might not be covered by the warranty  and i thought 'here we go' ££££. However after they had some discussions with Skoda UK it turns out that the latch mechanism is covered by my 'skoda approved used car' warranty.

This came with a big caveat though, in order to get to the latch mechanism, theyd have to go through the inner door lining, with the door shut, so it may get damaged. Get this, the lining aint covered! So even though the only way to carry out the warranty work is to go through the lining, id have to shell out if they damaged it, which looked pretty likely.

Not so in the end. Go the call and they said theyd managed to do the job without a scratch to the lining

And as a bonus theyd washed my filthy car too

So working door, havent spent a penny and a clean car to boot

thank you Skoda.

fantastic! good for you!

Nice one!

I know, i was going in on the defensive expecting a fight.

my experience of main dealers thus far is that they should wear striped vests and masks.

my jaw is still where i left it on the show room floor.

I'd be saying thank you dealer rather than thank you Skoda, but at the end of the day a positive outcome :)
