temperature/clock & SpeedBeeping

Featured Replies

My 55 Classic (new to me) displayed the clocktime with ignition off and the outside temperature when on. Now it's the clocktime whatever the key. What have I done, or fault? (Neither seems right).

Also mine beeps when approaching equiped speed camera positions at over the limit and them some. I'm amazed for a base spec. model and no-one believes me till I show 'em. I'll get nicked demoing it, 'cos it means braking quick.. Do they all? Nothing in book..I know the continental versions may beep at their 120 kph limit.

Is it dependent on the outside temperature? Mine displays clock time with the ignition off and whatever you left it on (temperature/distance/mpg etc) with the ignition on. However, if the ice alarm is active when the you turn the ignition on, the temperature is displayed instead. Rather a neat touch I thought.

As "Little" John's said, the clock will display whenever the ignition's off, and when it's on, it'll display whatever function you had showing before you switched it off (if you follow). I take it you know that the rocker switch for the computer is on the end of the right-hand stalk? As for the speed camera detection, I reckon it's an aftermarket bit of kit, as I'm not aware of any option like that...

I didnt think the classic got the MFA computer? Have a look at your windscreen wiper stalk , if there is a switch on it (as described by apogee above) then this cycles the display through the various functions of the MFA computer eg. , time , outside temp , average speed , mpg , time / distance travelled etc.

By the way , I've never heard of a Fabia having built in speed camera detector , maybe the 'speed warning beep' has been enabled by the previous owner via VAG.COM?
