Yes, it's a full size spare wheel, but........

Featured Replies

SWMBO had a blowout on the motorway this morning. I got to her before the AA did and changed the wheel for the spare. As I did so, I noted that the spare for her Fabia vRS has the yellow sticker usually confined to space savers and the instruction to only drive up to a maximum of 50 mph. However, the tyre is a full spec Michelin Pilot Primacy 205/45x16 R W.

I phoned the supplying dealer in Edinburgh, where the salesman said they'd had no such instruction from Skoda and he'd check it out. I guess he's still checking......

Does anyone know why Skoda insist on such a low speed limit when using the spare?

Then of course there's the problem of trying to source an identical replacement tyre......... :(

I think is is a steel used in the Larger Audis & VWs as I had that thought and with their larger wheels, it would be a space saver. (thats the only logical answer I can think of anyway)
