Felicia Diesel pre heater problem

Featured Replies

:confused:Hi All

Please help!!!! I have a 1.9 Felicia diesel. when you get in the car and shut the door and try to start the engine the glow plug pre heat fails. however if you open the door with the ignition on the glow plug pre heater light comes on???

Myself and a sparky friend have managed to determin the door sensor switch seems to operate as it should. Any ideas?????

Cheers.

As daft as this might sound... It might be a problem with the interior light.

I've occasionally had weird things like this happen which have been resolved by tapping the fusebox.

Edit:I didn't read first post properly. Still, could be worth a try as it is electronics.

water in the fusebox from a leaking screen rubber

According to the Haynes wiring diagram (the only wiring diagrams I could find), the diesel ECU is connected to the door light switches and therefore the interior light, hence my original post in this thread seeing as the door switches are ok.

I will ask if the door/lights warning buzzer works too... That IS in the fuse-box., so water ingress would affect it.
