Harvest B30 Biodiesel

Featured Replies

Simple question - will Harvest B30 Biodiesel run fine in 1.9TDi Fabia's? I see this stuff is on-sale at Morrissons. Does it do the job and anyone had any issues with it so far?

I can't seem to find any information about VAG fleet of cars on the harvest website, only mention is vauxhall as BSkyB wanted all their 1700 cars/vans running off the stuff.

Harvest Energy

That website is pure marketing. No real data and also no mention of Biodiesel, just Bioethanol which you really don't want.

Do a search round the site for a lot of other threads covering Bio. You will find a lot of debate and lot of experiances good and bad. You will need to make up your own mind.

Yeah - I know the difference between biodiesel and bioethanol.. the biodiesel is labelled as B30 as it's simply a 30% blend. I've read somewhere possibly in the Skoda manual, that all VW group cars can run on a 100% blend if the engines were built around 2002 onwards and conform to the correct EN spec.

the bioethanol is badged as e85 or summat - which I just ignored on the website at any rate.. I only ask, because its selling alongside the diesel at Morrissons and is badged as biodiesel.. so was just curious about it. If anyone else has an experience of it, I wouldn't mind hearing it..

thanks anyway.

It's probably worth checking with Skoda, although it depends when your car was built. There's a faq about it here: koda UK - FAQs

Basically it says you're OK with 5%. Build date between 2000 and 2006 (wk26) can be run on 100%. After wk26 2006 don't do it! I assume that if it's OK to run on 100% it should be OK to run on 30%. However, if your build date is after wk26 2006, who knows:eek:

Well, I run my 57 plate 1.9tdi Roomy at about 15%.

In France all the diesel is cut 5% with Bio.

Bye-Bye warranty!

I checked with Skoda to see if it was OK to put 30% blend in my 2007 Fabia vRS. They said definately not. 5% is OK, but not anything more.

Another punter spanked by The Man. I am sure thats what they said and yes they are right. After you put the phone down they probably s******ed and called you a Sheep. I suppose if The Man doesn't get to you one way the Mole will get you the other way...

It never effected my warranty in 57k of owning a VRS and at one point that was running it neat. You do it at your own risk but if you know what they are and how to avoid the side effects then there is no risk. When it warms up a bit Ill be running it on about 40%. It's all about the DPF but as it isn't fitted with one....

If you don't try you wont know.
