Right start of the week ...

Featured Replies

I was a bit late this morning and I was queuing up all the way to work. I was going over the St Albans road roundabout in Hemel and someone driving a white van didn't give away and hit me on the front left side. I slammed on brakes, but he was too quick. I went over the curb and onto the grass. By the time I stoped, he was gone and no one else didn't stop. There must been and least 20 cars which were around that ... what a ignorance

I've got a first for letters of his number plate, so hopefully they can find him through a CCTV. If not I'll have to pay for repairs myself :(

What a great start of the week ...

(Not you XP3NNY, the van driver obviously, and everyone else who didn't bother to assist.)

Bad luck, mate - hope you're able to track the guy down? Was it a white van or was it signwritten? If it was signwritten, you might have some success tracking down the company...

Sorry to hear that mate hope you catch the *****. I recently had someone who bumped into me and their was loads of witnesses again not one stopped.

Thanks guys. It was just a 'standard' plain white ford transit X897 .... I've got a first estimate on the damage - £600 excluding left front light. Front left wing + color, fix the door + color, repaint front bumper.

mate, was probably one of those drivers who use public greens and leave loads of mess. If you know what i mean..........

If u can managed to get the driver see if you can claims for xenon headlights!?

no doubt pie and (car) keys springs to mind, you might be able to make a claim through the MIB (motor insurers Bureau) against a non insured driver?

Thanks mate, I'll have a look into it.

You could, but you'd need to get the Police involved and you'd need the full reg.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, hope you get it fixed :(

what an arsehole,some people just don't give a sh**,hope you get him/her mate.good luck

sorry for your problems - the world is full of crap drivers . i think you will find MIB do not cover unless you are injured as i understand it - i got hit by an uninsured driver once and that was criteria needed along with police report- even with full reg took years to get some money and that did not include excess etc.

ouch, sorry about that buddy, not nice being hit:( especially with him driving off thats out of order:mad::thumbdwn: hope you sort something out.

Thanks mate. Now I need to wait for police to get back to me if they find the drive of that van. If they won't find him I'll PM you about the light.

I received second estimate and that is £1080 which IMHO is a bit too much. Still waiting for a police to let me know what's happening.

Don't like driving like this :(

Baker21: I'll give you a shout about that headlamp after christmas

There's a surprise, the police have no clout whatsoever these days IMHO, you could find the guy and say thats him in his van with my paint on the side of it and there still wouldnt be enough evidence... Next time chase him down the road and ram him off it.

People drive with absolute impunity these days, speed isnt the issue just recklessness and you can drive like an idiot dangerously day and night and have very little chance of being caught...

I like the Irish plan, whereby they have coppers on most roundabouts in the rush hour, where are our police? Doing bugger all thats what letting the Highways maintenance numpties lord about pretending to be police cars, if those twirps can cause a 10 mile tailback travelling at 70mph, imagine what a real police car could do!!!!!

Let it all out mate.....don't hang back......LOL!!

I agree with most of your comments although we always have coppers on roundabout's in Banbury!! With regards to the Highway Agency vehicles I do think that people need to be aware that these guys can't stop you doing anything so why drive slowly when you see one......because people aren't aware of the difference between a Highway's Agency vehicle and a Police Patrol Car!!!

Too right, and how come they are immune from the law of impersonating a police car/officer by parking on the police only patrol ramps etc etc etc.

I make a point of going past em at 90mph when I see them, (Where traffic permits) which reinforces my point about numpties driving like idiots with impunity...

Do skoda do bullbars as an OEM for the superb? I want em!

Do skoda do bullbars as an OEM for the superb? I want em!

LOL..........With the standard ride height and bull bars on the front it could well be mistaken for the 'New Skoda Cross Country-Superb'.......

I would call it an 'UBV' (Urban Bashing Vehicle) New marketing technique and all that, sell it as a life style accessory, oh to have my 200k ****at tdi back, raming really was an option in that, my superb is not quite old enough and I worry about the bodywork too much at the mo...
