Please can anyone advice me on what cambelt kit will fit my Fabia estate 1.9DTi on early 02 plate with engine code ATD. The Skoda/VW dealers are very reluntant to give out the part number. However, I now know it’s either 038198119 or 038198119A kit that will fit, but don’t know which. I have used the Vagcat.com, and it only gives you the belt, which is either 038109119N/P/L with tensioner damper 045109479B.

I think the kits for the ATD and ASZ (VRS) engines are the same , 038198119A was the kit i bought off Skoda for my VRS , came with the belt, tensioner, idler and a couple of nuts

retail price was £88 plus the VAT

Looking at the attatchment, the 6Y--------- is the crucial part of the chassis no. Find yours in your service book, registration cert. or it's in the bottom right of the windscreen. >>6Y--------- means upto that chassis no., 6Y--------->> means after that no.

i think the earlier one has a different tensioner , which is a bit more difficult to set up
