3 Button Remote Functionality

Featured Replies

I have bought a second hand remote flip key from eBay to upgrade my existing 2 button non-flip style key. All is good. Had a new blade cut, programmed the remote central locking using VRStu's website (thanks!), took the little transponder thingummyjig out of my old spare key and slotted it into my new key. Everything works perfectly.

Just a quick query though - the middle button doesn't work to release the boot, which I don't mind (I didn't think it would anyway). I was just wondering if there is any way (through VAG-COM or whatever) to get this function to work, or is it a no go on the Fabia?

I was contemplating the same thing as my old Bora came with a 2 button key, but when I bought the 3 button version the boot release from the key worked straight away.

Does the boot release definitely not work? On my one you had to hold it down for about 5 seconds before the boot popped.....

Definitely doesn't work, but you'll be pleased to here you've just made me go out in the street in my undies to check. :D

Could be that the solenoid isn't actually fitted?

I think that only Classic spec don't have the soft touch boot release and so the other models will have a solenoid fitted. Could be mistaken though.
