What do I need in the way of leads to read fault codes on my Fabia VRS?

Featured Replies

Having recently had a minor problem with my Fabia VRs with the ECU light coming on and having to take it to a local garage to read the fault code I have been considering buying the VAG-Com Lead and some software to allow me to read and clear faults myself in the future.

I have soon the leads available on eBay and wondered if these are any good, and also what else I would need in the way of software and what the cost would be.

I am not wanting to have full acces to the cars systems, but really just want to be able to access the fault codes, read them, and clear then oncce the fault has beed rectified.

Can anyone reconmend what i need to but to be able to do this.

I had to say it but this has been covered so many times and a search will give you the answer.
