Headlights Dim on 1998 Felicia 1.3L

Featured Replies

I have a 1.3L 1998 Felicia, and recently noticed that sometimes the Headlights cut out/go very dim when changing gear. Has anyone got any ideas what this could be caused by? Cheers, and keep on trucking skoda fans:O

Your alternator drive belt may not be tight enough (hence less power when changing gear) - that or another problem with the alternator like the voltage regulator.

i would think it is your alternator on it way out

Keep yur revs up when you change gear ;) (Joke)

Is your car hard to start?

Is the alternator charging battery light glowing at low revs?

Make sure the electrolyte levels in your battery are correct - use de-ionised water to refill it if they're low.

I agree that it could be the ancilliary drive belt loose, though lights are bright (usually) without the engine running at all...
