Can anyone help me

Featured Replies

I've posted here as its a computer part wanted and I didn't think the general wanted section would yield the result I'm after.

I am looking for the locking cradle off a 478 socket mobo (p4). You know the bit that the 4 hooks lock into. It's for an old friend of mine who's ex boyfriend went ballistic and kicked the living 5hit out the computer:eek:, damaging the the said part.

Ideally if one of you has a dead board lying round I was hoping you could whip off the part and bung it in the post to me (I'll cover the costs of course).

We are clutching at straws really but if you can help it would be much appreciated

You mean the bit that goes under the Mobo to hold the heat sink?

Otherwise is it the plastic thing that came with the CPU or the thing that is part of the socket?

An after market heat sink that screws through the Mobo holes would also solve the issue.

The thing that is part of the socket that the HSF clips onto. The black bit on this photo

If i find one in the dumping pile i'll let you know, however I would just buy an after market heat sink and fan that screws to a plate you put under the board.
