Steering wheel removal..How?

Featured Replies

Got the correct steering wheel for my vRS so now i need to swap them over.

Can anyone give me a step by step guide in airbag/wheel removal please:confused:

VRStu has done quite a lot of how to do items, and I think this is included in how to fit cruise control.

Just be very careful with the removal and fitting of the airbag, do not have you head in the way, just in case it goes off.

Do i need to disconnect the battery?

I will do a search on vRStu

Disconnecting the battery first is always recommended when working on the airbag system (not just Skoda).

Tiff - disconnect the battery for 10mins beforehand is a good precaution.

in the back of the steering wheel there's 2 holes - turn the wheel 90degrees to get access). Airbag is held in with 2 spring clips, you need a small screwdriver in the hole to prise the spring aside in each one and release the airbag - the clip prises outwards away from the wheel centre.
