dvd hu, handbrake switch wire?

got a dvd headunit and it wont play dvd's, i need to connect a handbrake cable up to the handbrake switch?? what voltage would this switch be? can i just splice it to the switch feed on the H/U so it works all the time? rather as only when parked up

it actually just needs earthing to allow the dvd to work permanantly.

the wife has 1 in her car and all you need to do is wire the handbrake cable to the aeriel and then it will work all the time. but watch out for the fuzz as they will not like to see you watching a dvd etc while you are driving

Just wire it up to an earth :thumbup:

yeah cheers guys, whacked the 12v switch onto it first but no joy, then stuck it to the hu earth, works spot on now!
