Is a short, low-down clutch pedal travel a standard feature of the vRS?

Mine (2006 model, unmodified) seems to have a very small distance between fully engaged and fully off. It's also quite low down to the floor. It's been like this since new. It sometimes makes changing gear difficult as there's less room for error. I have to be very precise with the biting point, otherwise it can make for a jerky gear change, particularly when changing down into a corner.

The steering wheel is adjusted to pretty much the furthest out it will go. I can rest my wrist on the top of the wheel with my arms extended. I can't sit any closer without my right knee bent up around the steering column.
