MkII vRS And Water

Featured Replies

I have noticed the last few times when i have washed the car that when i pop the bonnet to do around the edge the little square bits on the air filter are allways full of water , takes ages to get the corner of the chammy in to get it out . . .

Also when the car is soaked and you open up the rear hatch you get quite a lot of water fall into the boot or onto the sides where the parcel shelf clips into  very annoying

Also as well , i have noticed a slight dribble of water getting inside and running down the inside of the rear window , i think its coming in thu the seal of the rear wash wipe , noticed it when i had the boot open , going in next week to get them to check it over tighten it up .

Anyone else have these problems ?

Yes.

I don't think much of the air filter housing getting the small puddles, it is under the bonnet after all.

The runs and drips into the boot can get annoying, but i wouldnt describe my experiences of it as a lot of water getting in.

But, i dont have the runs on the inside of the screen, so get that sorted by a dealer...

Opening the boot slowly usually prevents the water entering. Maybe some rain repellent on the glass or wax on the tailgate will reduce the amount of water on the paintwork meaning less will get in.
