Digital photo frames - recommendations?

Featured Replies

I'm after something for my mum for Christmas, thought she might like one of these new fangled digital photo frame thingies.

Does anybody have one? Can you recommend it??

I bought on of these for my girlfriend for her birthday recently, and can highly recommend the Philips ones. The picture quality is excellent!

She's got a few hundred photos on it now and the photo changes every few minutes. Both our moms are after one now too!

This is the one I got: Amazon.co.uk: Philips 7'' High Resolution Wooden Digital Photo Frame (7FF1CWO/05): Electronics & Photo: Philips along with a 2GB SD card from Play.com. The 9" version pushes the price up by quite a bit, and I couldn't really justify it.

I've read some bad reviews on some of the really cheap ones found on ebuyer and the like, so I'd stick with a known brand. I guess it boils down to you get what you pay for.

John Lewis have them for a reasonable price especially if you can find an online voucher and get some money off. Digital Photo Frames - John Lewis

I gave my parents the cheapie low res one last year. It was a nightmare cropping their pictures in the native res, but once that was done, it was pretty good value for money.

I bought a Kodak wireless frame myself and returned it the day after as the features on it were pants, and the resolution (although higher than a Philips) didn't show off on the dull LCD.

Have now got a Philips, and it has been excellent.

We bought a Philips 9" for SWMBO brother when they got married....got it for a good price (I wish I could get another for that price).

Quality seemed excellent.

Good Choice!

Second what GAFF said. I've just bought another 2GB SD card for £7.99 from Play.com. Didn't think that was too bad. :)
