A couple of questions.

1. would there be any benifit to an uprated manifold for the Fabia VRS?

2. Is there such a thing on the market, if so how much and where to get them from?

There is a benefit, but generally it's an option you only need to look into when getting a hybrid turbo (my Allard turbo is mated to a special exhaust manifold)

On their own, it's probably more hassle than it's worth due to the fiddly nature of the turbo.

If you're referring to the inlet manifold, then yes, that's worth it too. However not much point porting an inlet manifold if you're not porting the head as well. ;)

IF you yank off the EGR assembly and clean out the OEM intake manifold, I'd guestimate you've increased your airflow by at least 15%....

(the amount of crud in there is not believable!!!)

If you google for 'gasket matching' you'll find a few articles that you may want to try out on an old OEM intake to further increase ariflow....

Any piccies of EGRs I've seen, the mount/surround for the anti-shudder valve seems very much reduced in diameter compared to the diameter of the inlet leading to it. You'd hope for a nicely smoothed entry to it but by the looks of it, nope. You get a step... Behind which lots of crud builds up. :(

I cleaned mine out a week or two ago - replaced the EGR with an Allard racepipe and spent about an hour scraping a really thick layer of goop out of the intake manifold, and then using a whole can of carb cleaner....

Can really feel the difference...
