i've got vag com 704 and a genuine cable with licience, i know that it works with vw family vehicles, but would it work as a code reader on toyota vehicles, :rolleyes:anyone know ???

Try it in OBD mode, I have tried it on Daihatsus which are very closely related to Toyotas with some success. You will only be able to look at the engine control unit and it depends on the age of the vehicle, as OBD regulations say that petrol and diesel vehicles should be compliant from certain manufacturing dates.

It may work on any OB2 compliant vehicle with limited functionality -
