Hi and welcome to Briskoda :D

I know nothing of the 1.9d, however looking at the parts catalogue...

Call up your local Skoda sdealers parts department and ask them how much part number 028 103 601 E is (this is the 1.9 diesel sump). It may then be worth shopping around, I don't know if GSF would sell them, it could also be worth giving Jorily Skoda on ebay a buzz to see if he's got any.

According to the parts catalogue it's held on with 20 m6 self-locking hex bolts.

There's also a "baffle" part number 037 115 220 B, not a clue what this does. I wonder if it's the equivalent of the sump gasket. You may need one of those too.

May be worth your whlile getting a haynes manual.

Hi & welcome pottheed ;)

 @ why you failed your test, sad tho it is :(

Sump removal on the diesel gets a 2 spanner rating according to Haynes, so if you can service your car including the brakes & have a torque wrench you can probably do it yourself (the engine doesn't have to come out).

The baffle, as mentioned above, is a piece of steel plate in the sump to stop the engine oil splashing and surging around and to keep it around the oil pickup. If your sump is badly damaged then the baffle may be damaged too.

Get a Haynes

You can buy the baffle plate seperate if needed
