My Fbia VRS sump has this oil sensor underneath but its not connected.

Is this usual ?

Its a late 2005 model but I had a new engine this year after it became a submarine!

The sensor is for cars that have variable servicing enabled which is not possible for UK Fabias, so it would have nothing to connect to. What is the engine code of the new engine and what was the code of the original engine (look at the data sticker). It may be that the same engine code is used in other VW group models that are variable servicing capable and they have rationalised the part numbers.
