Oh no I agree. I wont be doing it to mine. Its just that when I had a Seat and they were talking about this mod on Cupra net It was the fuel temp sender unit that you put the resistor on...I just thought it fooled the engine into thinking the fuel was really hot and therefore less dense so the Ecu then injects a bit more fuel to compenate but because it wasent really that hot it was therfore injecting a tad more fuel into the engine..

I opted for a RE-Map and was more than pleased with the results.

Done it!

It works very very well, car is much better to drive at any RPM but mostly off boost! 50-70mph in 5th much faster now!

Cons: Tiny bit more soot, but hey!

;)

I still await the "OH NOES! WHATS HAVES I DONESZ!?" post....

So do I, it would have been much easier to go and ask Jabba to fine tune the map to your taste than risk busting something which could cost many K to fix.

Keep an eye on the solution to the "how to i stop my car sooting thread"

Hi guys, newbie here on this forum. Joel's the name.

Anyway, if you want to read about this mod........

Chapagne performance on a beer budget - TDIClub Forums

also called the Evry mod. If you use a potentiometre you can vary the resistance so as to add more fuel, and hence more power. The tuning boxes are basically this and easy enough to make:)

That is basically an analogue tuning box yes...

The digital ones are a little bit different in they have a set of known values for you to chose from.

Does anyone know how the digital tuning boxes work?

By the way performance is much much better...I measured it!

50-80 in 5th = 8 seconds with digital box on, 15 seconds with box off! And thats with a Jabba remap and resistor mod too! Not bad for a 1.4 TDI!

Anyone know the 50-80 in 5th on a standard 1.4 tdi and a 1.9 tdi, would be interesting to see the difference?

ok i'm going to say this one last time and then give up.

Have you tried speaking to jabba and stating that you are displeased with the map and that you would like it to perform as per the mods together?

They would then tweak the map to do this?

50-80 in 14 seconds doesn't sounds very quick to me at all.
