URGENT Pics inside...Suspension bushes - are they the right way round?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Just a very quick question. Just fitted my new suspension bushes. Unfortunetely couldn't get the Cupra bushes in time so had to make do with the voided bushes.

Now the question is, are these the right way round / fitted okay? The voided bushes have a lip, and I would have thought the lip should be in the other side but from old broken bushes, I remember that there was a little round piece of rubber sticking out and these have that on the same side so assume they are fitted okay but just want to make sure before getting an expensive wheel alignment done. Please see the pics below and let me know what you think... thanks very much...

they are fitted the right way round , the thing that needed to be done when fitting was lining up the rubber bit sticking out with the aluminium mark on the console

Thanks for the response mate. Glad they are fitted okay.

However, you mention that they need to be aligned with the aluminum mark on console. Does this appear to not have been done here? sorry don't really know much about it :worried:

Also I have noticed that the lip of the bushes that faces against the wishbone does not sit 100% flush against the console (you can see this from the 1st pic above). Theres like a less than half a cm gap between them. Is this normal or is it that they need to be pushed in further?

They are pushed in far enough. I don't think my original bushes are pressed in all the way.

Thanks for the reply mate. I'm pretty sure they are in nearly all the way, just was a bit worried about the gap. I did ask my MOT station and they said its fine and if you push them in too much they will probably end up snapping. But I'm reassured that its safe and all good for the MOT so hopefully all is well.

Thanks again

strictly speaking , they should be pushed fully home into the console

Shame to go to all that work just to put the same rubbish in?

You are only going to have to do it all over again with Cupra ones

Since I got my Cupra bushes my local Seat dealer no longer fir standard void bushes. Any car that goes into them is now fitted with Cupra bushes automatically
