I bought a 02 Fabia Comfort 16V in October.

I have currently have a few problems with it. I have it booked into the garage on Monday (its still under warranty) but would appreciate some opinions in case the garage try to fob me off.

The 1st problem, is that it makes a kind of whirring noise when accelerating in 2nd gear. It only happens with 2nd all other gears are ok. It is not a really loud noise, but I wouldn't accuse it of being quite either.

Another problem is the engine electric management light is always on, the garage have reset it but it went straight back on again (I have read some other posts regarding this, but it may have a further relevence with other problems I'm going to mention).

The engine appears to be missing, this occurs when any pressure is put on the accelerator. This problem has been getting steadily worse over the last 2 weeks. I haven't noticed it as much at higher speeds, but below 40 it is a nightmare. It happenes enough to actually stall the car when going at low speed up hill. Today the problem came to a head when I was driving up a hill. The car seemed to loose all power and the engine electronic warning light started to flash. I had to give up trying to get up the hill and had to turn around to go back down. Once i got somewhere safe I stopped the car for 10mins, started again and the engine light went back to its usual constant illumination.

Another problem is a knocking at the front of the car. The noise occurs when turning a corner or going over bumps, normally at lower speeds ie below 50. There was a simliar noise just after I bought, I took the car in and they said it was the anti roll bar. They said that they had replaced the thing.

Get them to run a full diagnostics check on the car, which should read some fault codes due to what you said.

Could be any number of things to cause the knocking, sadly. There are many many components, and the knocking could be from the join between any of them!
