Hi Folks

I want to fit 2red leds into the courtsey light of my octy vrs 02 as it looks superb in my wifes superb (pardon the pun) .

Im looking to buy 2 leds and drill and fit them would just like to see if any one has done this and a how to ie wiring and the such.

Any help would be appreciated

what is the purpose of the red LEDs? where do they go? up in the middle near to the sunroof controls?

Cat vision... I fitted a superb interior light to my Octy... partly for the cat vision and partly because the buttons illuminate (unlike the cheap Octy version :( )

The red led's just cast a dim red glow over the central console area...

The Superb interior light is also brighter than the Octy's... it has 4 bulbs

I put one into each map light on my Octavia, wired up to a live feed taken from the back of the light switch.

So when the lights are off you cant see them, put lights on, the map lights glow red, turn map light on and the white light floods out the red led giving you a white map light again.

Don't forget to put a resistor in just before the LED, otherwise they will blow!

I'd like a couple of those LED's too. Was wondering if it would be possible to remove them from the Superb light and drill and fix to the Octavia light? (I don't want the illuminated switches in the light).

To be honest, if you just want the LED's, I would just buy a couple with collars from Maplin or similar. They're nothing special. The black plastic collar's used in the superb light are part of a much larger piece of plastic which is inside the unit. I think it would be a bit of a pain to get it to look right as the superb and octy lights differ quite a lot.

It would be much easier (in my oppinion) to modify the superb unit to stop the buttons from illuminating rather than to switch the LED's into an octy unit.

Forgive my stupidness, but when are those red LEDs on?

They come on with the cars lights, during the day you won't notice them, but when its dark, they illuminate the centre console area with a soft red light .
