I was in at my local dealer yesterday ordering an Octy Scout for 1st march delivery, more of which in the Octy II section, and the sales manager was telling me that the launch date for the new Fabia estate is at present scheduled for the 29th Feb 2008, leap year day.

In Central Scotland the dealers have said they may put the launch back 1 week because of the new registration date on March 1st (Saturday) when they are so busy putting the new reg cars out. The Fabia estate will still be available to view from Friday 29th Feb.

thought it was going to be in january?

then it would help push some sale in the quiet period before the new reg?

Totally O/T I suppose , but my Fabia was registered on the 29th Feb 2000 , IIRC the Launch of the original car was about the 4th or 5th of March 2000 , and mine was the 'on the road' demo car for Tweedmouth Skodas launch party. (stll got my invite - tho I didnt buy new!!)

New launch date is 7th of feb "approx"
